I have great admiration for Kristoffer Gildenlöw.
He knows how to create music that truly touches you, and I see myself reflected in it.
My paintings connect deeply with his music.
I was familiar with his earlier work in Pain of Salvation,
which I really liked, although it was more prog-metal oriented.
At the time, I wasn’t yet familiar with his solo work.
I actually discovered it by accident.
At one point, I was recording music myself and searching for a sound card on Marktplaats, a second-hand sales website.
I found an affordable one and went to pick it up in Utrecht.
It turned out to be Kristoffer’s.
He told me a bit about his solo work, and I listened to it closely when I got home.
It turned out to be much more up my alley than his work with Pain of Salvation.
I added him on Facebook, and sometime later he asked if anyone could make a video clip of an artwork based on one of his songs.
And that’s how a unique collaboration began — the video of ”like father like son”
which eventually led to a guitar design, his artist logo,
an album cover for “Let me be a Ghost….
And maybe…. More to come!
