Biography Sander van Helvoort – artist<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sander van Helvoort  grew up in Schoorl, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

a small village at the coast in the North of Holland (Netherlands).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is raised in a creative and musical family <\/p>\n\n\n\n

and able to explore those worlds <\/p>\n\n\n\n

from an early age.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inquisitive as he is, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

he studied art with his mother and grandfather.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a child he admired them <\/p>\n\n\n\n

for their extraordinary ability<\/p>\n\n\n\n

to draw just about anything in mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sander was able to gain a good foundation in terms of drawing and painting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His father played the guitar and<\/p>\n\n\n\n

practiced almost every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And he also heard it got better every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sander wanted to study music, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

he “Needed” that too\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eventually Sander got up on the stage with saxophone, bass guitar,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

guitar, vocals and everything that gave him a challenge in expressing himself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On a creative level, Sander started actively<\/p>\n\n\n\n

by decorating the musical stage at a young age, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He decorated the school with murals,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and of course provide the school’s newspaper with his arts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is no book in his entire school period <\/p>\n\n\n\n

left without a sketch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When he got older, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

exhibitions and several projects with fellow artists followed, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

mostly in Amsterdam, Alkmaar and Haarlem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He left his parental home <\/p>\n\n\n\n

and went to work at a factory nearby.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From logistic coordinator in a warehouse in Broek Op Langedijk <\/p>\n\n\n\n

to Health & Safety Officer in a large factory in Zaandam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He went to live in Heerhugowaard <\/p>\n\n\n\n

and had three wonderful daughters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is very difficult to live an artist\u2019s existence, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

and full dedication is simply not (yet) possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But it remains an important part of his life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He loves being on stage as a musician<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and he loves creating art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“My art is mostly based on emotions,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 energy, magic, love and death.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He states. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is always trying to create a scene with a twist, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

things that aren\u2019t what they seem <\/p>\n\n\n\n

or just spin the emotional reaction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Therefore there’s a story hidden in all of his work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sander uses very diverse styles <\/p>\n\n\n\n

and is  currently exploring <\/p>\n\n\n\n

the world of mixed media. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

From gouache, ink, chalk, wax, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

charcoal, oil, ecoline, water, rust,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

fire, peace, blood, love, tears <\/p>\n\n\n\n

and all other ingredients life brings us,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

he builds a \u201cfeeling\u201d or a story on  tar containing paper,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

paper, wood or canvas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He likes to show and share his perspective of the world. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So be welcome at a performance, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

an exhibition or on his social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
